Editorial policy
Lasting Civic Review aims to make civic heritage clear without flattening its complexities. We distinguish what is established from what is interpretation, and correct the record when we get something wrong.
Accuracy and context
We take care with names, dates, quotations and descriptions, and check material against appropriate sources before publication. When a subject is disputed or accounts differ, we describe the uncertainty rather than presenting one interpretation as settled fact. We do not invent sources, experiences or community consensus.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers and the publication’s subject. A partnership does not buy editorial approval, and contributors should disclose interests that could reasonably affect how their work is read.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error, contact us with the article, the passage and any supporting context. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the text and make the nature of a substantive correction clear.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or partner material is identified clearly where it appears and kept distinct from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when they are, the image is labelled. Illustrations are not evidence of a real event or place unless explicitly stated.
